Better Late than Never.....
Well, Christmas and New Year's have come and gone, and things are finally getting back to 'normal' in the Winebrenner household. Besides the wreath on the front door (that I can't bring myself to take down), all the decorations are in the attic, and we are starting to get back on some sort of a schedule. Christmas festivities started on the 18th when K, J, and P came in town. As our Christmas present, Dad had rented a room at a local restaurant so that we could enjoy a nice meal together but not disturb the whole restaurant now that we have 3 babies in tow. The food was amazing! I even tried bison for the first time and it wasn't too bad! The kids actually behaved for the most part and we were able to enjoy great food, wine, and conversation. It was a great night and a great Christmas present. Thanks Dad!
We found that E would behave himself and keep quiet if we let him roam around with a loaf of bread in hand. Here's E hiding behind with said loaf. Whatever it takes, right?!?
With all the babies around, E did whatever it took to keep some of the attention on him. He thought it was hilarious to get in P's car seat over and over and over again.
E and A had been trying to get the Rieves/Hale, Duggan/Lott, and Stone/Winebrenner/Routh clans together with all the kiddos for a while now. Everyone was actually in town over the holidays, so we all got to hang out at our house for a little while. It was fun to get to visit and meet everyone!
The week of Christmas, everyone stayed at our house. We had the College Christmas Party at our house, as well as A's Birthday Brunch and Christmas Eve dinner. It was pretty crazy with 3 little ones, but with all the extra hands we got it done.
A's friends (and ours) at her birthday brunch.
The Birthday Girl!
Christmas Eve Dinner - This has been our tradition since we were little. We would eat dinner and then open presents afterward. Because M had to go to the church that night, we had dinner in the late afternoon. When he and Dad left, the rest of us cleaned up and got ready to open presents as soon as he got back. We wanted to make sure the kiddos could stay awake for all the festivities. E had a blast opening presents this year. I think he was a little overstimulated with all the new things, but it was so fun to watch him!
A thought it would be hilarious to get a picture of the honey butter being passed around the table. Here is the end product.
E in his tunnel from Mammy! He got a really cool tent and tunnel from Mammy for Christmas! (Which he slept in the week after Christmas :)
Christmas morning, Mike and I did our Christmas with E and J, then packed up our stuff and headed to Grenada to be with part of M's family. It was a lot of fun! BUT....my camera died halfway through the time we were there, thus the lack of pictures. :(
E and his new trike from Opa & Grail!
Last week we got our first snow of the year. It wasn't much, much but we bundled up to go play in it anyway. I don't think we even had enough to make a snowball, but we'll take what we can get. The temperatures were also in the teens most days, which is ridiculously cold for this area.
Harry Potter, anyone?!?
I hope everyone's holidays were restful and full of good times with family and friends! Merry (late) Christmas and Happy New Year from the Winebrenner clan!
